DSV wins BIFA Air Freight Award

DSV in the UK is rewarded for their innovative approach and specialist distribution solutions for perishable and refrigerated products.

"DSV stood out from the shortlist by demonstrating remarkable growth in a very competitive sector. Utilising their chilled facilities, the judging panel felt they had developed a specialist service that was of huge benefit to their customers." These were the words of the presenter when awarding DSV the 2014 BIFA Air Freight Award.

Now in its 26th year, the prestigious BIFA (British International Freight Association) Awards recognise and reward high standards and professionalism throughout the shipping and forwarding industry. The Air Freight Award category was open to companies providing air freight, or sea/air, services.

"We’re delighted that the work of the Perishables department and the DSV Fresh team has been recognised by the BIFA Awards’ judges for the phenomenal success they have achieved. This trophy is testament to their hard work and determination to succeed" says Michael Hansen, Managing Director of DSV Air & Sea Ltd. in the UK. And he continues; "At DSV we’re continually looking at new and innovative ways to help ensure that we are offering our customers the very best service and value for money. We build expert teams who understand the complexities of the industry and work closely with our customers to make sure we are meeting, if not exceeding, their expectations. DSV Fresh is a great example of how our specialist services can offer customers a step up from a standard freight service."

Our application to enter the competition focused on the launch of DSV Fresh launched in January 2014 and headed by George Mead. The Perishables department and the DSV Fresh team supply specialist distribution solutions for a full range of perishable and refrigerated products, including vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, dairy, drinks, plants, flowers and pharmaceuticals.

DSV was previously named winner of the BIFA's Staff Development Award in 2012 and the European Logistics Award in 2013.
