For our rapidly growing division DSV Solutions, located in Venlo, we are looking for a Business Development / Carrier Manager. 

As a Business Development / Carrier Manager you develop and manage the worldwide network of DSV Solutions Nederland BV using national and international transport companies. You build partnerships with key decision-makers, negotiate rates and guarantee service quality. In addition, you make connections with planners, carrier implementations and customers, connect part systems and ensure that the execution runs seamlessly. When setting up these partners and customers, you use previous experiences about local and international e-commerce, fine distribution, groupage, LTL and FTL industry. In addition, you are the escalation point for major or structural issues. In this role you report directly to the Senior Director Freight & Distribution Management. 

Other tasks in your role are:

  • You hold MBRs and QBRs with the carriers;
  • You hold QBRs with customers;
  • You are looking for new carriers to expand and optimize the network;
  • You answer and process tenders with potential customers;
  • You analyze and report deviations from the transport and customer budget;
  • You maintain the database and are responsible for correct and complete information from the carrier to support the internal organization;
  • You maintain accounts and contracts;
  • You devise new transport concepts based on shipment profiles and you work and roll them out;
  • You are the point of contact for new carriers and new customers;
  • You maintain your knowledge of global transport developments in both B2B and B2C and translate this into concrete projects to optimize / improve existing flows.
     

What do we ask?

  • A relevant HBO / WO education;
  • Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills;
  • You have a proven track record in growing a business commercially;
  • Experience with change management and project management is a plus;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the transport and/or logistics sector;
  • Experience in building and improving processes is a must;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing;
  • You are willing to travel within the Netherlands and Europe.
