For one of our essential departments within DSV: DSV Equipment, we are looking for a Workshop Manager.

What are you going to do?

We are looking for a Workshop Manager for our trailer Workshop in Venlo. Our workshop offers full-service repair and maintenance for all types of trailers and trucks, including tire changes, brake testing, electrical repairs and MOT inspections. The team provides a fast, high-quality and reliable service to our price-conscious customers. DSV Workshops is well on its way to becoming one of the best run trailer workshops in Europe and this offers growth opportunities for you.

Every day will bring new challenges and we trust you can handle them. In this position you are fully responsible for the workshop and the associated workshop results. Moreover, you run the workshop as if it were your own workshop.

Your work will also consist of:

  • Carefully monitoring the work schedule and the progress of all workshop activities;
  • The management and prioritization of the incoming workload and you coordinate this with DSV Equipment Center and/or external customers;
  • You use your technical knowledge to coach and develop the mechanic team;
  • You are responsible for time allocation and reporting the hours;
  • You minimize trailer downtime by identifying the most efficient and economical repair method;
  • Follow-up of workshop KPIs;
  • Preparing, invoicing and booking work cards before the end of the month;
  • You are responsible for a pleasant customer experience and you regularly consult with the Sales Manager to make the most of business commercial opportunities
  • You ensure that all workshop and roadside assistance services are performed correctly within the DSV guidelines.

What are we looking for?

As a Workplace Chef, you are passionate and performance-oriented. One of your main challenges will be raising awareness of intercultural differences. It is essential that you are motivated and have the courage to lead a diversity of employees. Moreover, we attach great importance to a "can do" mentality, reliability and flexibility.

We also think you fit this role if you:

  • Have at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the Trailer/Truck industry (or similar);
  • Previous experience with workshop management;
  • You have good technical knowledge;
  • You have a customer-oriented and team-oriented mentality;
  • Proactive and confident in making decisions;
  • You have good Dutch and English language skills;
  • You get energy from working in a busy and dynamic environment.
