For our fast growing division DSV Solutions, we are looking for an IT Team Lead.

What are you going to do?

You will build a high-performing Application team, determine the overall direction and set up the processes. You will set the team and individual performance targets and measure the performance. You will provide appropriate coaching, training and other development needs. As Team Lead, your goal is to empower people and make them realise their full potential.

As a team, you are responsible for supporting and collaborating with Core team to maximise coding standardisation and reuse of existing solutions. You will work closely with the Delivery and Product function and other relevant departments to support the delivery of business requirements. You will do this by using the standard DSV warehouse system solutions and by identifying solutions for potential gaps. In short, a challenging role with the opportunity to take our services to the next level!

Furthermore, your activities will consist of: 

  • Maintain and develop the WMS and surrounding applications with a high focus on standardisation and code reusability, clear and understandable documentation;
  • Implement automated testing and implementations for WMS solution;
  • Proactively identify risks and risk impact and work on solutions;
  • Responsible for stability of WMS solution, defining stable & sustainable proactive monitoring around WMS;
  • Translating the agreed application footprint into actions and setting priorities;
  • Act as interface between the demand functions and software supplier to ensure that int. and ext. business requirements are met;
  • Assign activities to the right people, plan for and mentor the team in competency development;
  • Support the IT architecture function in its mission, objective, and action plans.

What do we ask? 

As IT Team Lead, you bring extensive supply chain knowledge, understand how new IT technology, processes and business can be aligned to create the core capabilities and values of the company. You have a good knowledge of and experience with relational databases, SQL and PL/SQL. You are able to initiate and implement new approaches and procedures. And you are able to translate strategy into operational plans and on to execution. 

A Team Lead role, of course, also requires a bit of People Management. You are closely involved in recruitment/selection, training/development, coaching, conflict management and performance management. You provide the right people and the right resources, in the right place to achieve common goals. In addition, you are able to carry out systematic and rational analysis in order to identify the underlying cause of problems. And finally, you are able to understand, formulate and challenge functional specifications.

We think you will fit well into this role if you: 

  • Already have experience in a leadership role;
  • Knowledge of infrastructure landscapes and operating systems (Windows/linux);
  • General knowledge of working with various 3rd party SW providers;
  • Preferably knowledge of Blue Yonder WMS (Dispatcher WMS);
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to adapt these to your conversation partner;
  • Have the ability to successfully progress with minimal direction: self-motivated & autonomous;
  • Able to remain professional and effective under work pressure;
  • Have strong analytical skills with regard to logistic processes and the ability to translate these into standard processes within a tier 1 WMS solution;
  • Are pro-active and willing to involve stakeholders in the decision making process when needed;
  • Willing to take personal responsibility for achieving individual and shared goals;
  • Able to make informed judgements and generate pragmatic, practical and timely solutions;
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity;
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills;
  • About 5 years of working experience in a transport, logistics or supply chain management related role, preferably within the 3PL industry;
  • Proven working experience within project management;
  • Excellent customer-focused and internal communication skills.
