As a junior freight forwarder in our road transport department in Venlo, you will work for your own international customers on a daily basis. Naturally, your colleagues will train you fully to relieve these customers of all their road transport worries.

You get it done

As a junior freight forwarder, you will work in our Switzerland. Every day, several trucks leave Venlo directly for Switzerland. Because you fill these trucks as efficiently as possible with groupage shipments, you make the difference. You do this not only for our shipments to Switzerland, but also for our other trucks that drive to destinations in the Baltic states every week. You’re on it.

How you do this? Your previous experience (work or internship) is a plus, as is your (preferably) completed logistics training! Of course, your colleagues at DSV want to teach you everything related to road transport. After a thorough induction programme, you will be the contact person for our customers, you will organise all shipments for your customers and you will be in close contact with your DSV colleagues in Venlo, Dordrecht and other international branches. From request to invoicing. You achieve this by:

• planning and managing of groupage shipments on our daily shuttles to Switzerland; 
• identifying, analysing and resolving deviations in the process;
• further developing customer relations and recognising business opportunities; 
• booking shipments at various recipients; 
• maintaining close contact with internal departments, including your colleagues from planning, sales and crossdock;
• maintaining close contact with our Swiss colleagues.

You bring

• passion for transport and logistics. You also know how to convey this to others;
• at least 2 years of work experience, in a similar role such as customer service employee, transport planner or other customer-oriented function; 
• a service-oriented attitude, you think in solutions, work well in a team and are not satisfied until the work is done; 
• social skills, a healthy dose of humour and you are not afraid to pick up the phone;
• good command of both Dutch and English.
