Surcharges are sometimes necessary due to changing regulations, increased toll costs or to compensate for deviations in the exchange rate of a certain currency.
Below, you can find all surcharges used by DSV Road: Security & Facility Surcharge, Congestion & Environmental Surcharge, Security Surcharge, Belgium toll, Germany toll, CAF UK, CAF Switzerland, the Sulphur emission regulations, the Adriatic fuel surcharge and the ETS surcharge.
Security & Facility Surcharge UK and Ireland
For shipments from and towards the UK and Ireland, DSV Road will implement the Security & Facility surcharge as of November 1st 2017. This surcharge is necessary due to additional preventive safety measures and accommodation costs that we have to take on the above-mentioned routes.

Congestion & Environmental Surcharge Norway
For shipments from and towards Norway, DSV Road will implement the Congestion & Environmental surcharge as of November 1st 2017 and amounts to 1,2% of the freight price. This surcharge is necessary because the Norwegian government increased the toll costs due to new environmental measures.
Security Surcharge
For shipments from and towards Spain and France, DSV Road will implement the Security Surcharge as of July 3rd 2017. This surcharge is necessary due to the additional preventive safety measures that we have to take on the above-mentioned routes like secured paid parking’s for drivers.

Belgium toll - indexaction
As of 1 July 2018, the Belgium toll will be increased by the Belgium government. Due to this index adjustment, we are forced to increase the toll costs for all shipments from and towards Belgium with 1,5%. The toll costs for shipments that use Belgium as transit country, like Spain, Portugal, France and Luxembourg, will also be increased with 1,5%.
CAF UK
The below mentioned surcharges apply for all shipments from and towards the UK. Until further order, the CAF UK remains 0,00%.

Adriatic Fuel Surcharge
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has implemented the new 0.5% sulphur marine fuel, applicable to all vessels at international level. Complying with the new regulation, which aims to limit vessels emissions globally, the shipping companies need to either use the new low Sulphur fuels of 0.5%, or to install desulphurization and purification equipment.
This is the reason, that as of the 1st of February, we will apply a surcharge for all shipments from and towards Greece. Below you can find our surcharges for Greece.
