FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) provides an integrated approach to risk management in the field of food safety
FSSC 22000 typically includes everything from raw material production, procurement and handling to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
HACCP vs FSSC 22000
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) has been used for many years as the management system for food safety, but since 2005, there has been the FSSC 22000 quality mark. Where HACCP was purely focused on food safety, FSSC 22000 goes further. In addition to food safety, FSSC 22000 also looks at business processes and structures.
Food safety within DSV
Within DSV, the guidelines of FSSC 22000 are used to keep our internal processes as well as our external processes hygienic and safe. Especially goods that are sensitive to temperature change and /or can decay, it is necessary to comply with the strict guidelines.
The HACCP certificate was obtained in 2006 (DSV Road B.V. in Venlo) and the FSSC 22000 certification, which is the replacement for HACCP, is valid up to and including 2021. As of 2022, we work according to the guidelines of FSSC 22000.
