DSV Road is recruiting for the role of ICC Manager, overseeing all International Import, Export & UK Domestic Inbound & Outbound transport movements for our Depot in Purfleet. The role will include ERTS (Customs) Clearance.

 

Post EU membership, DSV Road will act as Inland Clearance Depot upon Import and Export. Shipments destined for, or arrived from, within the EU will require Customs Clearance to be processed before Transport can be arranged.

 

The applicant must be, organised, punctual and have good CPU skills. This is a key process role where attention to detail is critical.

 

We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly focused and efficient team. The ability to work under pressure is important and all training for the role will be completed.   

 

Main purpose of Job:

  • Manage a team of 10-12 people working 3 rotational shifts covering 22 hours a day.
  • Managing all rota's including holidays, absence and overtime
  • Managing the budget of overtime and charging out relevant costs for documents we produce.
  • Making sure the team are working at the uk Standards to control the ETFS site and stay within compliance rules.
  • Training all new and current staff on new processes
  • Checking documentation of import arrivals, and create documentation or export trailer leaving the UK. The successful candidate will ensure all HMRC documents are prepared correctly and that the depots receive clear instruction on cargo when it is released.
  • Communicate effectively with internal colleagues and customers around documentation. This will involve the use of IT to interface with HMRC systems and monitor the clearance status of shipments.
  • Maintaining records of clearance, ensuring you are organised and accurate with all systems.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and external customers
  • Preferably some knowledge of Customs processes or systems
  • Ensure legislative compliance in all areas.
  • Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
  • Prepare correct documentation to the Warehouse/Haulage/Distribution/Shipping department for loading/offloading cargo to vehicles, in a timely manner,
  • Maintain awareness of and follow transport (and H.M. Customs) regulations, where relevant, to conform to all statutory requirements.
