Transport Manager

DSV are recruiting for a Transport Manager in Immingham, working Monday through to Friday (some weekend work will be required).

Key Tasks

Reporting to the General Manager, the Transport Manager will be operationally responsible for a team of transport planners and driver support staff, as well as organising shift patterns, workload and holiday/sickness cover and overseeing the haulage  operation.

Duties / Responsibilities

• You will responsible for monitoring volumes of work and adjusting the fleet accordingly,
• Being involved in running and producing weekly traffic and vehicle productivity reports, and then further providing these to the General Manager
• You will also be operationally responsible for over 100 owned HGV drivers and dealing with day to day issues.
• Maintaining our sub-contractor fleet of over 40 haulers consisting of over 100 trucks based in Immingham and other areas around the UK. 
• Support and coach the team of transport planners and oversee their workload.
• Communiate effectivley with all stakeholders. 

Skills and Competencies

• International CPC is desirable but not mandatory
• Minimum 2 years working within a haulage operation at supervisor level (candidates with longer experience with aspirations to work at supervisor / manager level will also be considered) 
• Excellent communication skills
• A good team player, and be competent in communicating with colleagues at all levels. 
• Experience in managing a diverse staff base,
• To be IT Literate e.g competent using MS Excel & confident in learning new systems
