Role Summary:
As an expeditor, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing shipments via airfreight, sea freight and road cargo operations based on the expected delivery schedule provided by client. You will need to collaborate with vendors, carriers, overseas offices, handle documentation and maintain communication with various stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective material movement operations.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage shipments from origin to destination, ensuring adherence to timelines and customer requirements.
Liaise with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and ground handling agents to arrange bookings and schedule shipments effectively.
Prepare and process necessary documentation, including seaway bills, invoices, customs documentation, and other required paperwork.
Ensure compliance with international freight regulations, customs laws, and security protocols.
Monitor and track shipment status, providing timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Address and resolve any issues or delays in the transportation process, working proactively to find solutions.
Update the tracking sheet with freight status and send to the customer on daily basis.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sea freight operations and shipments.
Stay updated with industry trends, market changes, and technological advancements in sea cargo logistics.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration/Economics/Logistics or freight forwarding.
A minimum of 5 years work experience within the Freight Forwarding industry
International working experience preferred.
Proficiency in using freight management systems, tracking software, and MS Office applications.
Knowledge of international sea cargo regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance standards.
Competencies:
Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to managing and resolving operational challenges.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
