    Role Summary:

    You will be leading a team of operatives to receive, handle and dispatch cargo in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements including Health & Safety to the satisfaction of clients and the profit of the company. You will be expected to complete all fulfillment centre, cross-doc, warehouse related tasks and activities.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Supporting the Manager with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, responsible for a group of operators and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets. Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards

     

    • Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
    • Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse.
    • Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
    • Ensure that vehicles, machinery, and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
    • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
    • Ensure all relevant administration procedures are followed and completed.
    • Train new Warehouse operatives within area of responsibility
    • Proactively contributes to the team and actively committed to teams development.
    • Manage time and attendance for operatives within area of responsibility.
    • Work within Health and Safety regulations as well as within those stated in Dangerous Goods requirements, notify/take action where necessary.
    • Fulfil company policy on security and quality.

     

    Educational Qualifications, Job Requirements & Work Experience

    • Proven experience in warehouse operative role for at least 3 years or a Supervisory qualification would be beneficial.
    • Familiarity with fulfillment center operations and respective equipment (pallet jack, pump truck, reach truck etc).
    • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
    • Acceptance and ability to work on shift patterns as required.
    • Certified in: Dangerous Goods Handling or equivalent.
    • A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements
    • Fork Lift Truck licence may be required

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.  The employee uses computer and telephone equipment.  The employee also regularly lifts and/or moves objects up to 30 kilograms. The employee could maneuver trolleys, pallets and cargo which can be significantly heavier (600kg+) Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee could be operating in high temperatures respective to the region and climate of the cross-dock location.
