KEEN Europe partners sustainable with DSV
KEEN is proud to be the fourth largest outdoor footwear brand in the world and as its business continues to expand, their goal is to exceed expectations and provide best in class service to their customers, with exceptional quality, accuracy and efficiency. Therefore, KEEN is delighted to announce its new sustainable partnership with one of Europe’s leading logistic partners, DSV.
Commitment to sustainability
Sharing KEEN’s signature commitment to sustainability, DSV offers sustainable transport via barge and operates a new, environmentally sustainable warehouse located in ‘s-Heerenberg in the Netherlands on the German border. This new partnership will provide capacity for increased order volumes, improved responsiveness to changes in demand and in turn shorter lead times to our partners and their customers. With their own carrier fleet, proven experience in the footwear and apparel industry you will see improved processes, responsiveness, accountability and consistency in all your shipments from KEEN. For the customers in the German marketplace this will specifically translate to the introduction of a next day delivery service and for all other territories an improvement in delivery time frames of at least 24 hours, an agile advantage we are delighted to pass on to our customers and an accomplishment we are especially proud of during the current climate.
Over the past decade, we have been working tirelessly to analyze and improve KEEN’s supply chain and manufacturing processes to be more eco-friendly. We are therefore very pleased that we can now also take the next step in a more sustainable distribution of our products within Europe,
says John Jansen, General Manager of KEEN EMEA.
DSV is, as one of the first global players in its industry, committed to the Science-Based Targets Initiative, who have approved the targets of DSV for reducing carbon emissions. By 2030, DSV wants to reduce its emissions from buildings and company cars by 40% and reduce the emissions from freight transport by 30%. These targets of DSV are aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement in order to limit global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.
We are very proud to be part of KEEN’s future, providing sustainable warehouse and transport solutions from our fashion warehouse in ‘s-Heerenberg, the Netherlands which fully fit in our Science-Based Targets. With our knowledge in footwear and apparel, the infrastructure and the location at the border with Germany we are able to service the b2b and b2c market with short lead times and at the same time we deliver a great contribution to our Science-Based Targets,
says Peter van der Maas, Executive Vice President of DSV Solutions the Netherlands.
