As an assistant customs specialist, you and your colleagues are responsible for correctly processing and handling all customs formalities for our international customers. In other words, the world is literally and figuratively at your feet. And the best part is: You’re on it.

How you do this? Working with a team of 15 colleagues, you solve various day-to-day issues and get the chance to grow your knowledge and experience. At DSV, you learn everything on the job, so step by step you will be ready to progress into a full customs specialist role. You achieve this by:

• preparing, processing, and submitting all types of customs declarations in accordance with laws and regulations;
• ensuring compliance with permit requirements;
• collecting and verifying all necessary (and additional) customs-technical or fiscally relevant information (certificates, permits, documentation related to the type of goods, type of clearance, and relevant country);
• identifying irregularities or errors and reporting them to your manager;
• following established work instructions and procedures.

You bring

• mbo level of thinking and working skills, preferably a basic customs declarant diploma, or the motivation to obtain one;
• strong analytical skills, able to work accurately with great attention to detail;
• a positive, energetic attitude and eagerness to learn;
• good command of Dutch (B1) and English, both written and spoken.
