Move forward as Business Controller at DSV in ’s-Heerenberg
Are you an analytical thinker with a passion for numbers and processes? Do you want to have a real impact on a logistics operation as a business controller? In this role you will have the freedom to perform analyses, identify improvements and help steer the financial performance of an entire site.
You get it done
Analysing figures and translating data into concrete improvements for our logistics operation: you’re on it.
How do you do this? As a business controller you are the financial sparring partner for the management and operational teams of our logistics site. Due to growth within the region, it is necessary to establish a solid foundation in business controlling. In this role you will have the opportunity to help build, professionalise and gradually take on more responsibility. This means you will not only grow with the organisation, but also actively contribute to strengthening our department.
In addition, you ensure control over the organisation’s performance by providing insights into figures, analyses and forecasts. You monitor the financial health of the site and actively help to improve it. You play a key role in translating financial data into operational steering, both in the daily operation and at a strategic level. In doing so, you work closely with internal departments and the Shared Service Center. You also ensure that everything is carried out in accordance with applicable internal and external regulations. You achieve this by:
- preparing accurate financial reporting and controlling of the sites;
- preparing forecasts and budgets;
- identifying improvement opportunities through detailed analyses of cost structures and operational performance;
- advising on investment decisions and supporting strategic projects;
- optimising processes and performing internal controls.
Your team stands out within DSV due to the strong collaboration within the region. Although you mainly work at the ’s-Heerenberg location, you regularly interact with colleagues from other locations. Around once a month you meet to share knowledge and discuss developments.

says Nienke van Hoof, Manager Business Control.
In the Netherlands, we operate from more than 40 locations with over 5,000 colleagues. Together we take on the challenges of a rapidly changing environment. We make quick decisions at every level and combine ambition with teamwork. This is how we move forward and make a difference together.
You bring
- a completed bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business economics with 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role;
- extensive knowledge of Excel, SAP and affinity with IT systems;
- strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
- flexibility, particularly during the monthly closing process;
