How you do this? As director operations excellence, you provide strategic leadership for the further professionalisation of DSV Contract Logistics Netherlands’ logistics operations. You are ultimately responsible for developing and implementing the Operations Excellence strategy, aimed at maximising efficiency, productivity and quality across warehousing, fulfilment and transport. You lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for process optimisation, business and customer implementations, creating a culture of continuous improvement and ownership. Using a data-driven and methodical approach (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S), you ensure processes are streamlined, waste is eliminated, and innovations are effectively implemented so that logistics operations optimally contribute to business objectives.

In this role, you are also responsible for monitoring performance and KPIs, analysing data, and initiating strategic improvement projects that achieve cost savings and operational growth. You are part of the management team and work closely with regional directors and other departments to create alignment and successfully roll out strategic initiatives. By effectively leading, coaching, and developing your team, you foster a culture of excellence while implementing new technologies and best practices and managing logistics risks. As director operations excellence, you make a direct, lasting contribution to DSV’s growth, innovation and competitive position. You achieve this by:

• formulating and implementing the strategic Operations Excellence agenda within the logistics network, focusing on sustainable improvements in efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction;
• leading, developing and inspiring a multidisciplinary team of 4–5 managers and a total of 45 FTE, embedding a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement;
• optimising complex logistics processes and workflows using Lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies, focused on cost control and operational excellence;
• leading large-scale implementation and transformation projects, such as customer implementations, site start-ups, relocations and WMS integrations, with a focus on predictable, measurable and sustainable results.

You bring

• extensive experience in managing complex logistics operations and strategic implementation programmes within a 3PL or supply chain environment;
• deep expertise in Operations Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma and process optimisation, applied in data-driven decision-making and performance improvement;
• highly developed leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire, develop and lead multidisciplinary teams towards strategic goals;
• experience defining, monitoring and managing KPIs and achieving sustainable improvements in efficiency, quality and cost structure;
• ability to lead innovation, change and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on operations excellence and sustainable growth.
