You get it done
Together with the QHSE Teams in the Netherlands (11 regional colleagues) and our colleagues in Belgium, you ensure that our sites, where hazardous substances are stored and further distributed, are safe; you're on it.
How you do this? You make sure that the applicable quality standards are met, (safety) procedures are followed and that work is carried out in accordance with current laws and regulations. As a health & safety specialist, you focus on implementing and optimizing policies related to these areas. You achieve this by:
- identifying bottlenecks, reporting them, and advising supervisors/ management on improvement points;
- translating relevant laws and regulations into a practical approach in the field, and working with visualization and reporting tools for managing environmental permits or activity decrees;
- developing your knowledge regarding transport documentation requirements for ADR, IATA, IMDG and the storage of hazardous materials, including PGS15, PGS37 01, and PGS37 02;
- advising colleagues on the storage and transportation of hazardous substances, so they can provide accurate quotes to existing and new customers;
- developing training programs and preparing presentations to increase safety awareness within the organization. Additionally, you participate in multidisciplinary teams to draft and/ or elaborate on process descriptions and work instructions related to the storage of hazardous substances and transport documentation.

You bring
- higher professional education (hbo) and/ or work experience focused on safety, engineering, environment or similar fields;
- knowledge in the area of hazardous substances storage and transport documentation is a plus;
- a willingness to learn, as there are several mandatory training courses required for the effective performance of this role.
