As a manager of business control, you are a full member of the management team and are responsible for the development and leadership of the business control team, consisting of 7 direct colleagues. You act as a strategic business partner for (senior) management. The goal is to strengthen decision-making and the long-term strategy of the organization through reliable analyses, reporting, and financial advice. And the best part is: You’re on it.
How you do this? Through your sharp insight and strong communication skills, you analyze and optimize margins and translate financial data into concrete actions. You are able to convincingly share these insights with both the operational team and management. You achieve this by:
- challenging, supporting, and advising the organization. You are the sparring partner who pushes the organization to achieve the best possible results;
- reporting and analysis. You ensure accurate financial reports, including budgets and rolling forecasts;
- leading your regional Finance team. You guide and support their personal growth and development;
- supporting and advising. You provide financial analyses for tenders and give advice on pricing structures;
- collaborating with operations on impactful process improvements;
- project control. You evaluate investment proposals and monitor their implementation.
Your team stands out within DSV by a shared success factor. You provide insight, direction, and impact. Together with the Regional Director, Site Managers, and other management team members, you tackle business-economic challenges and further strengthen the role of controlling. You bring
- a completed hbo or wo degree, preferably in Business Economics or Accountancy;
- 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience in a similar role;
- a critical mindset, results-oriented, with strong analytical and leadership skills;
- excellent communication skills, allowing you to operate effectively in both Dutch (B1) and English across all levels of the organization;
- affinity with the logistics sector and a hands-on, no-nonsense attitude.
