As operations manager, you are responsible for a dynamic, large-scale logistics operation in Breda. You work in a high-performance logistics environment where continuity, customer focus and process optimization are key: you’re on it. 

How you do this? You are the connecting link between the customer, the operation and the team, and you know how to create support at all levels. You have frequent direct contact with our customer, acting as a sparring partner and an extension of the organization. You understand challenges and translate them into concrete operational actions. In the role, you manage a large logistics operation of 140 employees and provide hierarchical leadership to a team of warehouse and office supervisors. You are part of the local Management Team and report directly to the Site Manager. You achieve this by:

• having full end responsibility for the entire operation, focusing on achieving internal and external KPIs, financial budgets, productivity standards, planning, safety, quality, and customer and employee satisfaction;
• translating customer requirements into clear operational frameworks and representing the operation towards the customer, including supporting escalations and ensuring structural solutions;
• motivating, inspiring and coaching teams and supervisors at all levels through transformational leadership, with a focus on ownership, change capability and results;
• initiating and leading Operational Excellence initiatives, improvement programs and process standardization, actively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement;
• working closely with colleagues and other departments while safeguarding the balance between people-oriented leadership and achieving ambitious KPIs.

This experience and expertise ensure that your team works efficiently and independently, forming the foundation for a successful operation. You bring

• at least a bachelor’s level of working and thinking, combined with a minimum of three years of management-level leadership experience in a logistics environment, including responsibility for your own P&L;
• proven success in large-scale operational leadership;
• knowledge of HR-related activities such as absenteeism management, sustainable employability, reintegration, recruitment of new colleagues, and coaching employees and team development plans;
• experience with WMS systems, KPI reporting, 5S and Lean methodologies;
• excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English;
• the ability to effortlessly switch between strategy and operations and mobilize teams, and strong in decision making.
