Move forward as Solutions Design Engineer EMEA at DSV in Venlo
Do you want to work on innovative logistics solutions for international clients and contribute to the growth of one of the world’s largest logistics providers? From concept design to the realisation of new facilities, from customer implementations to automation projects: this is your chance.
You get it done
Working in this department means you’ll directly contribute to designing smart logistics concepts and solutions for customers in the EMEA region. In tender processes, you will use your analytical skills, commercial insight, and communication abilities to develop winning proposals: you’re on it.
How you do this? As a solutions design engineer, you will work on designing, developing, and selling advanced logistics solutions for clients across the EMEA region. You will translate complex customer needs into sustainable operational models – from initiating innovative concepts to fully developing warehouse layouts, automation, and material handling systems. You’ll apply your knowledge of specific industries (verticals) and use modern tools such as simulations and financial models to create well-founded and scalable solutions.
In collaboration with the data science team, you will carry out data analyses and sensitivity analyses, ensuring that your proposals are both technically sound and commercially feasible. You will ensure alignment between regions and business units, working closely with sales and marketing within RFQ processes, and present your solutions to clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. In doing so, you will play a key role in shaping logistics strategies for international clients in a dynamic and rapidly growing market. You achieve this by:
- developing innovative logistics solutions and concepts based on data analysis and vertical expertise;
- designing warehouse layouts and creating commercial and financial models (including sensitivity analyses);
- collaborating with sales, marketing, and IT to translate RFQ proposals into comprehensive solutions;
- determining material handling requirements, including automated systems and robotics.
Your team stands out within DSV by international character, strong collaboration, and the variety of projects from new warehouse developments to optimizing existing operations. We are quick to adapt and think integrally with both the client and our internal teams.
