Move forward as Transport Planner at DSV in Venlo

Are you ready to make a difference? For our customers, your colleagues, and most importantly, for yourself? As a transport planner, you’ll push boundaries both literally and figuratively. Within our department, you are the key to efficiently planning and handling transport across various countries in Europe.

You get it done

At DSV, as a transport planner, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of shipments. Whether it’s regular transport, planning routes with our own trailers, or optimising truck usage: you’re on it.

How you do this? Together with your colleagues, you ensure that the routes are as profitable as possible, while also handling return shipments and extra pick-ups. You have short lines with your colleagues in the Expediting, Customer Service, and In-House Fleet departments, making collaboration smooth and efficient. Additionally, you play an important role in building and maintaining a network both internally and externally. You achieve this by:

  • planning shipments for both our own trailers and special shipments, ensuring maximum efficiency with minimal kilometres and the highest possible utilisation rate;
  • independently planning our own fleet of 43 trucks and trailers, working closely with your colleagues;
  • proactively communicating and keeping customers, colleagues, and partners informed;
  • monitoring shipments and spotting irregularities related to loading, unloading, and delivery. You are responsible for the entire process, from start to finish.

Your team stands out at DSV because it consists of a mix of experienced colleagues and newcomers. Everyone is there to help, share knowledge, and learn from each other. Whether you're just starting, or you’ve been in the industry for a while, there’s always room to learn something new. Work enjoyment is a top priority here, and you’ll feel that immediately. While hard work is a given, there’s always time for a joke or a laugh. The atmosphere within the department is relaxed and friendly, making teamwork even more enjoyable.
