Thanks to your years of experience as a freight forwarder, you are the perfect match to smoothly manage all import and export shipments. You will be doing this for a fixed portfolio of clients. Which is great, because it means you play a key role in strengthening and expanding these relationships. You organize the shipment of goods via ocean freight, and sometimes road transport needs to be arranged as well. With fixed sailings, we can offer our clients extra flexibility and the best possible service. And the best part: You’re on it.

How you do this? In this role, we give you trust, independence, and freedom. It is your domain, and you get the job done. Our client needs cargo shipped, general cargo, hazardous goods, LCL or FCL? That’s easy for you, because you are already an experienced forwarder. We ship from all over the world and handle all types of cargo, so no two days are ever the same. Yes! This is the challenge you have been looking for, and you are eager to help build a high level of service and strong client relationships. You achieve this by:

• taking care of customer orders, processing them in Cargowise, and setting up the corresponding ocean freight and road transport (import, export, LCL, FCL); 
• requesting and negotiating rates and providing quotes;
• handling claims and ensuring the best customer solution;
• maintaining contact with customers, DSV offices, co-loaders, and carriers;
• monitoring ongoing shipments and troubleshooting.

You bring

• at least 3 years of work experience in ocean freight export, for example in a role as a freight forwarder, ocean freight trader, or expeditor;
• knowledge of hazardous goods is a plus;
• you speak good English and Dutch (minimum B1 level);
• a strong personality, you are not afraid to take initiative and are result-oriented.
