DSV successfully executes complex OOG road transport in Kuwait

Engineered road-based solutions supporting the safe and time-critical movement of oversized industrial cargo in Kuwait.

DSV delivers specialised OOG project transport in Kuwait

DSV in Kuwait's Road division has successfully completed the transportation and erection of oversized and overweight (OOG) cargo for ACICO Industries Co., marking a significant milestone for the Road business in Kuwait. The operation highlights DSV's project transport solutions and expertise in OOG road transport for complex industrial cargo movements within the local market.

“This project reflects the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of our road operations in Kuwait. Successfully executing such a complex move while maintaining safety and precision shows how our teams step up to challenges and deliver with confidence,” said Ali Farhat, Director, Country Manager, Road, Kuwait.

The project involved the movement of seven autoclaves, each measuring 34 metres in length, 3.2 metres in diameter, and weighing over 65 tonnes per unit, along with additional heavy cargo including a ball mill and a steam boiler. Handling oversized and overweight cargo of this scale required specialised heavy haulage services and deep technical expertise in industrial equipment transport.

Cargo of this scale and complexity was handled by DSV's Road division in Kuwait, requiring detailed planning, technical expertise, and precise execution. This project further reinforces DSV's growing capabilities in Kuwait in project cargo logistics and complex road transport operations.

Despite a tight timeframe and limited availability of suitable assets in the local market, the DSV operations team conducted a comprehensive technical study and engineered a tailored transport solution. This included the configuration of multi-axle trailers and precise equipment positioning to ensure safe and efficient movement from port to site. The engineered DSV solution reflects the team in Kuwait’s experience in multi-axle trailer transport and port-to-site transport solutions.

The project was executed within 96 hours, from vessel discharge to final offloading, even as operations faced challenges such as restricted night movements, police permit coordination, heavy rain, and difficult ground conditions at the delivery site. The successful execution demonstrates DSV's ability to deliver time-critical project transport solutions under challenging local conditions.

“Handling cargo of this magnitude requires a high level of coordination, planning, and technical expertise,” said Abdulkarim Baig, Manager, Road, Kuwait. “The team responded quickly under pressure, adapted to challenging conditions, and completed the operation safely and on time. This project is a testament to the strength of our road operations and teamwork.”

Safety remained a key priority throughout the operation, with dedicated HSE supervision at both the port and project site to ensure compliance and safe execution at every stage. A strong HSE framework is central to DSV's approach to heavy lift logistics and OOG movements.

“This project demonstrates our capability to manage highly complex OOG movements, even under tight timelines and challenging conditions,” said Haneef Cherikkal, Sales Manager, Road, Kuwait. “It reflects the professionalism of our teams and the trust our customers place in DSV to deliver critical logistics solutions.”

The successful completion of this project reinforces DSV’s position as a reliable logistics partner for project transport, heavy haulage, and road-based OOG cargo movements, supporting industrial, infrastructure, and manufacturing projects across Kuwait.
