The capacity of our APAC air charter network is increased
We made a quick start in 2022 with adding more capacity to our DSV air charter network on two specific routes to and from the APAC region. We are now able to offer you three weekly flights from Hong Kong to Liege (Belgium) and a direct flight lane between Singapore and Los Angeles

As we speak the air freight market is still facing a lack of capacity and the continue of backlogs. One of the critical regions is APAC, where governments have imposed rigorous COVID-19 restrictions in response to the spread of the Omicron variant. This can be challenging for companies that are reliable on transportation to and from the Asian market. It is likely that the upcoming Chinese New Year will increase the complexity of this situation.
In this situation expanding our air charter network can be great news to our customers:

By further expanding ‘The Hong Kong Star' and introducing ‘The Movie Star’ to our network we bring new options to the table for our customers,

The Hong Kong Star
We are expanding The Hong Kong Star (Hong Kong – Liege – Hong Kong) to three flights a week, and each flight will have a freight capacity of 1.000 tonnes. Hong Kong is currently subject to strict quarantine regulations for air cargo crews, resulting in some carriers suspending their cargo operations to and from the city. However, by ensuring that we operate with double crews that are not Hong Kong-based, we are able to upscale our operations to three flights per week despite the current restrictions.
The Movie Star
Our new route is branded The Movie Star (Singapore – Los Angeles) with a freight capacity of 100 tonnes. Due to the graphical location of Singapore, it is often avoided by carriers who choose for shorter routes to and from Europe and the United States. With our route between Singapore and Los Angeles we found a gap in the APAC market so we can offer a valuable and reliable solution for our customers.
