DSV delivers heavy-lift project in Oman

DSV has successfully transported three massive heat exchangers from Duqm to Sur, Oman, showcasing its expertise in managing complex logistics projects across the Middle East.

Each heat exchanger weighted 171,500 kilograms. DSV handled the full scope of the project, from port coordination and customs clearance to inland transportation to Oman LNG (OLNG) facility in Sur.

The operation began with vessel berthing on 9 March 2026 and cargo discharge on 15 March, with pre-positioned trailers enabling efficient live loading. All three units were safely delivered by 21 March, meeting the agreed project timeline.

This project was challenging, but our team's proactive planning and close coordination with authorities, transporters, and the OLNG team ensured a safe and timely delivery. It's a testament to DSV's ability to execute even the most complex heavy-lift operations under pressure.

The team successfully navigated a number of operational challenges, including:

• Security disruptions: A fuel tank attack near Duqm caused temporary stoppages due to emergency drills.
• Port congestion: Unexpected rerouting of heavy-lift vessels led to delays at Duqm port.
• Limited working hours: Ramadan and the Eid holidays restricted availability for coordination at both port and site.
• Complex stakeholder coordination: Close collaboration was required with authorities, transport providers, escort teams, and the OLNG facility.

Despite these hurdles, DSV's careful planning and expertise ensured that safety, compliance, and deadlines were never compromised.
