Record-breaking industrial power plant delivery
Overcoming extreme port congestion and moving some of the largest cargo ever to Jubail - discover how DSV in MENA delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule
DSV in MENA has delivered a complex industrial power plant project to Jubail, Saudi Arabia, overcoming extreme port congestion and handling record-breaking heavy-lift and out-of-gauge cargo. Coordinating closely with port authorities, coastal guards, and local police, DSV has engineered a solution that ensures safe, efficient, and timely delivery.
The project involves transporting heavy and oversized equipment that had never been moved from China, Japan and Korea to Jubail Commercial Port (JCP) before. DSV modified the port's main gate and used a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) to maneuver cargo out of the port before shifting it onto conventional axles for transport to Dammam and finally Jubail. This innovative approach has saved the customer significant vessel detention days, reducing costs and keeping the project on schedule.
