Vessel Blockage in Suez Canal

DSV Panalpina is carefully monitoring the current situation in the Suez Canal in Egypt, where the 400-meter-long container vessel Ever Given is blocking the traffic in both directions.
On March 23rd , 2021, the fully laden Evergreen Marine 20,000 TEU container ship ran aground and is blocking the canal in both directions. Due to the incident, long tailbacks have occurred on the waterway, which is causing delays. Since Wednesday, March 24th, refloating attempts have been carried out by the owners of the vessel in coordination with Suez Canal Authorities.
Unfortunately, the situation has not yet been solved. At DSV Panalpina, we are in close contact with our subcontractors in order to handle the situation in the best possible way.
