US Customs Implements EU Tariff Rate Quota for Aluminum and Steel
New Tariff Rate Quota implemented for EU takes place of Section 232 for Aluminum and Steel

The United States Trade Representative agreed to Tariff Rate Quotas for European Union member countries, rather than Section 232 duties on aluminum and steel. The quotas officially opened January 3, 2021. The EU aluminum quota will be divided into two half year periods and the EU steel quota will be divided into four quarters.
Additionally, a White House proclamation removed the additional duties for steel and aluminum derivatives, effective January 1st, 2022.
