West Coast Port Terminals Now Operational
The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach returned to normal operations on Saturday, April 8th, after two days of shutdowns and closures caused by a worker shortage last week.
Worker shortage
The shortage came amid protracted labor negotiations between the union that represents West Coast dockworkers and the industry group representing shippers, according to Long Beach Post. Both parties are currently negotiating new contracts.
Minor delays
Due to the closure event and the observed holiday on Sunday for Easter, a general ripple effect delay at the terminals is expected.
