West Coast Port Terminals Temporarily Shut Down
The twin ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach closed Thursday, April 6th due to a manpower shortage that may have been exacerbated by drawn-out labor talks.

According to Bloomberg, the port terminals were shut down as of 5:00 PM Pacific Time due to a lack of on-hand, available labor.
For some background, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are among the largest and busiest ports in the world - significant for their economic, environmental, infrastructure, and strategic importance, playing a crucial role in the global economy and international trade.
