DSV advances fleet electrification in Saudi Arabia

The introduction of 10 electric trucks in Riyadh marks a significant step in DSV’s efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its transport operations and advance its global sustainability goals.

DSV is preparing to introduce 10 electric trucks into its road operations in Riyadh by mid-November 2026 through a collaboration with EVIQ and Hala Auto. By combining electric commercial vehicles with dedicated charging infrastructure, the initiative supports the integration of lower-emission transport technologies into DSV’s Saudi Arabian operations.

The initiative forms part of DSV’s broader commitment to reducing emissions across its operations and value chain. The company aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with 2030 targets to reduce emissions under its direct control (scope 1 and 2) by 50% and value-chain emissions (scope 3) by 30%, compared with a 2019 baseline. DSV’s targets and accounting principles are developed in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) framework, ensuring they are based on the latest climate science and aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Putting fleet electrification into practice

Successful fleet electrification requires suitable vehicles, reliable charging infrastructure and close coordination with day-to-day transport operations. The collaboration brings these elements together to support the planned introduction of electric trucks into DSV’s Riyadh operations.

Hala Auto is supplying electric commercial vehicles aligned with DSV’s operational requirements. EVIQ is developing dedicated charging infrastructure at DSV’s depot and providing access to its wider charging network.

By combining vehicle technology, charging facilities and logistics expertise, the partnership will enable DSV to build operational experience with electric transport and assess its potential to reduce the environmental impact of road freight.

Advancing sustainability through collaboration

DSV’s fleet electrification efforts demonstrate how the company is translating its sustainability goals into operational action. Collaboration with technology and infrastructure partners is helping DSV advance lower-emission transport solutions.

“This partnership marks an important milestone in DSV's sustainability journey in Saudi Arabia. By combining electric vehicle technology, charging infrastructure and logistics expertise, we are building the foundation for lower-emission transport solutions that support both our customers' sustainability goals and our own commitment to reducing emissions,” shared Walid El Naameh, Director and Country Manager, Road, Saudi Arabia at DSV

The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s wider ambitions to develop its logistics sector and advance its sustainability agenda under Vision 2030. For DSV, the planned introduction of electric trucks in Riyadh supports its ongoing work to reduce transport-related emissions and develop more sustainable logistics operations.
