DSV Canada breaks ground on a new state-of-the-art 1.3 million square foot warehousing facility in Innisfil, Ontario

DSV’s new distribution centre is located on 55 acres of land at Highway 400 and Innisfil Beach Road in the Innisfil Heights Employment Area. The facility will be the largest warehouse of its kind in DSV’s Canadian network.

On June 19th, we held a groundbreaking ceremony for our new state-of-the-art 1.3 million square foot warehousing facility in Innisfil, Ontario, scheduled to open summer 2025. 

We were very proud to welcome Premier of Ontario Doug Ford, MPP Doug Downey, and Town of Innisfil Mayor Lynn Dollin among many of our partners and teams globally to mark this milestone occasion. 

Building the future of warehousing for Sustainable supply chains

“At DSV, we continue to invest in innovation and technology to offer greater flexibility and growth to our clients, along with a better work environment for our warehouse associates.” says Rob Chanona, Managing Director – Canada, DSV Solutions Inc. “Our strategy with DSV Innisfil is to offer our clients an option outside of the constricted GTA industrial market, however, we did not want to sacrifice time to market. Innisfil’s collaboration with our development and its location with seamless access to Highway 400 fulfills this promise to our clients. We are excited to build our business, innovation, and growth in the Town of Innisfil.”

The new DSV Innisfil facility will be LEED-certified and “exemplify the best in warehousing development, economic strength, and infrastructure connectivity of goods flowing from the 400 Highway to Toronto,” notes Chanona. 

Built with the latest in innovation and sustainability, the new facility “truly showcases our next-level solutions for supply chain, fulfillment services, and defines our commitment to investment in Ontario’s economy", says DSV's Managing Director.

Innovation at its best 
With a 42’ clear height, the new facility will consume 28% less footprint that the traditional industry building height of 32’ clear height. At DSV, we are taking space efficiency even further by investing in dense automated storage systems. Both automation and 42' clear height will allow us to store 180,000 pallet positions in this facility, which is 50,000 more pallets than conventional racking.

 Solar Panels - Covering 15% of roof space with capacity to produce 2.8 million kWhr per year 
100% LED lighting and local waste management guidelines
Future-ready fully electrical building – Fitted with a 4000Amp transformer
EV charging points for cars as well EV charged trucks at dock doors

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Premier Doug Ford noted “I’m just so proud to be here,” emphasizing the strength of Ontario’s economy and the ability to attract new business. “We have now become an economic powerhouse around North America.”

The largest facility in the DSV Canada network


Once complete, the 1.3-million-square-foot facility will be LEED Certified and create approximately 225 permanent local jobs. It is the largest facility for DSV Canada and a key location in its expansion in the Ontario market, notes Rob Chanona, DSV Solutions’ Canadian Managing Director. 

Construction is already underway, with Broccolini managing the project and build. Broccolini, a third-generation family business, specializes in industrial, residential, and commercial real estate in Quebec and Ontario. Michael Broccolini, chief investment officer of Broccolini, said, “We are grateful to DSV for trusting us to make this one-million-plus-square-foot facility happen".
