New TSA regulations tighten air cargo security for US imports

A recent TSA amendment has been issued regarding security regulations for air cargo with final destination or transiting through the US.

Subsequent to the recent announcement of the Emergency Amendment from the Transport Security Administration (TSA) that all cargo from 55 largely European countries are tendered as known shippers or freight forwarders who have an established business relations with shippers, please note the following update: The freight forwarding industry is actively collaborating with government agencies, including the TSA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as leading airlines, to meet the new TSA data requirements for airfreight traveling to and through the United States. The goal is to establish a unified guideline for implementing these regulations.

The rollout of the new requirements will occur in two stages, and DSV is aligning its systems to ensure full compliance at each step. For now, the industry, including government authorities, carriers, and forwarders, is adhering to a temporary solution to prevent disruptions in commerce.

New Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) requirements for US imports

The Transport Security Administration (TSA) has provided sudden new mandates on additional security measures for cargo transiting through or with final destination to the US. In response, DSV is working closely with US authorities, airlines, and other industry partners to establish how this will affect our clients.
