The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have postponed the implementation of the fee to Monday, December 6.

suez canal update
The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach announced a further postponement of the Container Dwell Fee, which was originally announced on October 25.

Since the fee was announced, there has been a 37% decline in long-dwelling cargo at the ports.

The Container Dwell Fee is a temporary policy to charge a fee of $100 after nine dwell days for containers moving by truck, and after six dwell days for containers moving by rail. The fee will increase by $100 increments for each day the container remains at the terminal.

Currently, no date has been set to start the count of days that apply to dwell time.

We will continue to update with any changes in the stated schedule.
