DSV acquires IATA CEIV Lithium Battery Certification to safeguard air cargo safety

The new IATA CEIV program certifies DSV’s operational excellence and competence to ensure proper handling of air cargo containing lithium batteries.

The CEIV Lithium Battery Certification (CEIV Li-batt) validates the capability of DSV Hong Kong’s air freight station to safely and properly process lithium battery shipments, and endorses the necessary training and expertise of the air operation team. The certification also confirms that the company has set up relevant policies, processes and procedures in accordance with the standards set out by IATA under the new CEIV program.

Safety is of high priority

DSV upholds high safety standards and strives to ensure the compliance and safety for the transport of lithium battery shipments, by minimizing the risks of such cargo through a standardized and efficient process within DSV which is compliant with applicable transport regulations. Launched in October 2021 by The International Air Transport Association (IATA), Center of Excellence for Independent Validators Lithium Batteries (CEIV Li-batt) is a certification program designed to enable the supply chain of lithium battery products such as shippers, freight forwarders, cargo handling facilities and airlines to meet their safety obligations by complying with the applicable transport regulations.
