Hurricane Alert in US Gulf: Laura and Marco

DSV is monitoring the Hurricane Status of Marco and Laura in the US Gulf, and will continue to keep our customers updated.

Port Status:

Houston: The Port of Houston: (Barbours Cut and Bayport Container Terminals) has tentative plans to cease all terminal operations Tuesday, August 25 during the evening, as gates will close at normal hours. Vessels are to be determined by USCG ship channel status. At this time, the Port of Houston anticipates to be fully closed Wednesday and possibly Thursday depending on the storm track. Weekend gate operations will be evaluated based on local / regional impacts.

Update: The Port of Houston will be operational on Friday, August 27th.

New Orleans: The Port of New Orleans: (Ports America) will be open on Tuesday, August 25 with normal operating hours. Breakbulk operations will be open on Tuesday, August 25 at Coastal Cargo. Operations at Ports America and Empire will be closed.

Update: The Port of New Orleans will close on Thursday, August 26 in the afternoon and will remain closed on Friday, August 27. Breakbulk operations remain open.

Airport Status:

Staggered airport cancellations are occurring in Miami, New Orleans and Houston. However, airports at this time are not closed.

Trucking Status:

It is likely that trucking operations between Houston and points East on US Hwy I-10 along the US Gulf will be impacted.
