USTR Outlines New Approach to Section 301 Tariffs
The USTR announced a new approach to the US-China relationship. The Section 301 tariffs on goods from China will continue, but the exclusion process will be restarted.
After months of in-depth review, The United States Trade Representative released a fact sheet shortly after her remarks at today’s meeting at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC.
The fact sheet outlines the approach the USTR will take in addressing the United States-China trade relationship. The Section 301 tariffs will continue, but the exclusion process will be restarted. Further details will be advised as they become available.
The USTR advised that “we will use the full range of tools we have” to build on existing tariffs and "develop new tools as needed" to create better results from the US-China relationship.
