Ground-breaking ceremony marks official start to construction of DSV Park | Gauteng

Air and Sea Managing Director Gordon Wyatt and General Manager Engineering and Projects Morne Janse van Rensburg took guests, who included Ekurhuleni Municipality acting Community Liaison Officer Sipho Sithole and Ekurhuleni ward 25 Councillor Pieter Henning, through how the completed project will look.
Gordon said DSV was working closely with contractors and the local community to ensure they are included in the development of DSV Park | Gauteng. “We have sourced vehicles and people to work on site from the local community and we look forward to building a strong relationship in the future”.
The move is aligned with our DSV philosophy, and is consistent with the global strategy of consolidating office and warehouse space. One, centralised DSV facility will have many benefits and help us deliver a smoother, more seamless service to our customers.
The logistics facility is scheduled for completion during the fourth quarter of 2020, with occupation taking place from December 2020 to early 2021. DSV Park | Gauteng will house a logistics warehouse of 79 000 m², a cross-dock facility of 32 000 m² and office space of 10 000 m².
The site is already a hive of activity. The main contractor is on site, and columns are lifting out of the ground. The first slab was thrown last week.
The earthworks programme is expected to be completed by March 2020, and the project timeline looks like this:
- Cross Dock Platform 1 - 31 July 2019
- Cross Dock Platform 2 - 30 Aug 2019
- Warehouse platform - 13 Sep 2019
- Office platform block - 30 Oct 2019
- Full site - 6 March 2020
