DSV Namibia gears up logistics for oil & gas boom

With new partnerships and integrations, DSV Namibia is expanding its logistics capabilities to support the country's booming oil and gas sector and drive regional connectivity

DSV Namibia has entered into a partnership agreement to collaborate with Logistics Support Services (PTY) Ltd (LSS) in Namibia, bringing together the world's largest logistics network with Namibia's leading local logistics network.

The collaboration will provide DSV and LSS customers with a fully integrated, end-to-end suite of logistics and transport services in Namibia. DSV and LSS will continue to operate as separate brands, each focusing on key areas of expertise to offer customers the best of local and global logistics networks.

DSV Namibia is part of DSV A/S, a global leader in transport and logistics, and Logistics Support Services (LLS) is a 100% Namibia-owned logistics and supply chain firm.

The announcement comes at the same time DSV integrates Schenker's Namibian logistics operations. The new look DSV Namibia goes live in January 2026 once formalities have been completed.

Supporting Namibia's growing oil and gas logistics sector

DSV's strengthened presence in Namibia comes at a pivotal time for the country. Recent offshore oil discoveries, concentrated in three major finds and estimated at around 20 billion barrels, are set to transform Namibia's economy. These discoveries are creating significant investment and commercial opportunities as Namibia positions itself to become one of Africa's key oil producers.

Production is expected to begin towards the end of this decade, driving increased demand for specialised logistics, transport, and supply chain solutions across the energy sector.

Gordon Wyatt, DSV's Executive Vice President, Air & Sea, says developments in Namibia represent major opportunity for the country, the continent and DSV.

The magnitude of the oil discoveries cannot be underestimated. Our integration with Schenker in Namibia and collaboration with LSS will offer the market a strong local, regional, and global logistics network to help turn potential into success.

Wyatt added that Walvis Bay not only serves the Namibian market but also plays an important role in supporting transit cargo to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Botswana.

Leveraging local expertise and global reach

LSS' Anton Pretorius said the collaboration with DSV would position the company for continued growth in Namibia and provide customers with access to a seamless, end-to-end regional and global logistics network.

LSS is based in Walvis Bay and Windhoek, a major logistics hub, and offers an integrated approach to supply chain management, especially for the offshore oil and gas, rigs and repair service industries.

DSV offers a full range of logistics services, including Air, SeaRoad transport, and is considered to be the largest logistics network globally following the Schenker acquisition. The strengthened DSV Namibia operation enhances support for oil and gas industry customers, and offers additional services to DSV's global network, including stronger road solutions between South Africa and Namibia and into sub-Saharan Africa.

By combining DSV's global capabilities and LSS's deep local knowledge, the two companies intend to deliver world-class project logistics, warehousing, customs, and supply chain solutions, driving efficiency and value across Namibia's key industry sectors.
