When complexity becomes an opportunity
When Michal Dang joined DSV, he knew he would be working on large-scale technology solutions, but he did not expect just how big the challenge would be.
The first time he opened the code base, he got a glimpse of the technology supporting DSV's global operations. Behind the scenes was a level of scale and complexity that reflected the size and reach of the business. For many people, that might have been intimidating. For Michal, it was exactly what made the opportunity exciting.
Drawn to the challenge
Today, Michal works with AI-powered solutions in DSV's Global IT organisation, helping build tools that support colleagues across multiple countries and business functions. From the beginning, one thing stood out to him: "When I first opened the code base, it was quite overwhelming. There was a lot of code, a lot of complexity." Rather than seeing the complexity that comes with supporting a global business as a barrier, he saw it as an opportunity to learn and solve meaningful problems. When he joined DSV as in a graduate position, he did not know exactly what he would be building, but he knew it would be at a scale he had not experienced before. And that was part of the attraction.
Building something new
One of the things Michal enjoys most about his role is working with new technologies and helping turn ideas into practical solutions. His work has included developing AI capabilities that support hundreds of users across the organisation, helping automate processes and improve efficiency in day-to-day operations. What motivates him is not the technology itself, but what that technology enables. As the solutions grow and more people begin using them, he can see the impact firsthand: "Currently, we support 600 users on a day-to-day basis, and that number keeps growing. It makes you feel like your work is impactful." For Michal, innovation is most rewarding when it helps people focus on what matters most.
Technology with purpose
While technology is at the centre of his role, people are never far away. One of the reasons he enjoys his work is the opportunity to combine technical problem-solving with collaboration, discussion and learning from colleagues across the business. Whether working with developers, business stakeholders or users, he believes the best solutions come from understanding the people who will ultimately use them. And that is what makes innovation meaningful. It is not simply about building something new. It is about creating something that makes a difference.
A journey that is still unfolding
The technology landscape continues to evolve, and so do the challenges Michal gets to work on. One of the most exciting areas right now is AI, where new possibilities emerge almost every day. "AI agents is something completely new, going from zero to one," Michal explains. For Michal, that constant evolution is part of what makes the work so rewarding. There is always something new to learn, another challenge to solve and another opportunity to create value at scale. And he is only getting started.
What moves you?
For Michal it is all about "helping people to work faster and more efficiently – and allow them to focus on the more important things." Whether you are building technology, solving complex challenges or creating new possibilities, impact starts with finding better ways to help others succeed.
From specialist to global IT leader
Wojciech joined DSV in 2015 as a Specialist and quickly embraced opportunities for growth. His leadership potential was soon recognized, leading him to become a Team Leader and, in 2017, Site Manager for Warsaw.
After gaining experience outside the company between 2020 and 2022, Wojciech returned to DSV to take on a new challenge as Head of Global IT Hubs. Today, he leads a network of Site Managers and plays a key role in developing strategic locations that support DSV's Global IT organization.
His current focus is on building and expanding Global IT Capability Centers, creating environments where talent, innovation, and business growth can thrive.
And for Wojciech, this is just the next chapter. At DSV, new opportunities are always around the corner.
