In April 2025, the biggest transaction in the history of TSL sector took place – with the consent of regulators, DSV acquired Schenker. As a result, DSV has become the largest logistic operator in the world. Responsibility and oversight over the integration process in Poland was entrusted to the new management team.

DSV management team in Poland

Along with the takeover of Schenker, based on public financial data for 2024, the combined companies achieved total revenues of 41,6 billion Euro, and employed nearly 160 000 specialists in over 90 countries. To support the integration process, DSV has decided to make changes to the team managing the company’s operations in Poland.

Air & Sea shipping

Arkadiusz Mirek, who joined the operator’s team over 20 years ago, remains the president of the board of DSV Air & Sea Poland, a company responsible for providing sea and air freight forwarding services. He has been acting as the chief executive officer of DSV Air & Sea Poland since 2004.

Since DSV embarked on a path of growth through acquisitions in 1976, it has never strayed from it. Even during such difficult times as 2008 – 2010, when the whole world was struggling with the effects of the great financial crisis. I believe that the key to our success is that we have developed unique know-how in the field of integration. - recalls Arkadiusz Mirek, Managing Director, DSV Air & Sea Poland - Integration of Schenker AG opens a lot of new opportunities for us, among other things, thanks to the expansion of the network of charter flights and LCL shipping lines.

In 2024, despite the global economic downturn, DSV Air & Sea Sp. Z o.o. maintained its sea freight volumes at virtually the same level as in 2023, while its air freight volumes increased by 20% year-on-year, outperforming the trend for the whole air transport sector.

Contract Logistics

Wojciech Cipriur, who has been with the company since 2021, remains in the position of President of the Management Board of DSV Contract Logistics Poland, a company specialising in contract logistics service. At the same time, since 1st of September he is also responsible for the Eastern Europe Cluster, where he will oversee the development of DSV contract logistics services in 11 markets in the region. Before joining the team, DSV held management positions at Dachser Group in the Asia – Pacific region, Germany and Poland.

Despite the difficult economic situation across Europe, 2024 was the best year ever for DSV’s contract logistics business in Poland. Our organic growth of 20% significantly exceeded the market average. I am sure that thanks to the merger of Schenker and DSV, 2025 will be even better for us. Our warehouse space in Poland will increase by approximately 40%, reaching over 500,000 sq. m. - says Wojciech Cipur, Managing Director, DSV Contract Logistics Poland.

DSV continues its long-term investment programme in Poland, which includes several projects aimed at increasing the stability of national and international supply chain as well as supporting the operator’s organic growth. The construction process is already underway, including DSV logistic centre in Łódź, which recently entered the decisive development phase. The facility will have a total of 24.000 sq. m, and will combine three functions: office, classic multi-brand warehouse (14.000 sq. m) and transhipment terminal (8.200 sq. m.). The logistics superhub in Łódź is expected to commence operations in Q3 2026.

Road transport

Piotr Zborowski has been appointed the new CEO of DSV Road Poland, a road transport company. He previously served as managing director at Schenker, where he was responsible for the operator’s business development in Poland and the Northen and Eastern Europe region. Filip Czerwiński, who has been responsible for the company’s development from 2016 until now, remains as a member of the management board at DSV Road Poland. At the same time, he will continue to work within DSV, supporting the commercial department in Poland and the broader Central and Eastern region Europe as the Cluster Head of Sales, CCO Eastern Europe.

The integration of DSV and Schenker is an important step in the development of both organizations and the entire logistics industry. We are combining our experience, network, and expertise to create the most extensive road transport structure in Europe – over 600 terminals connected by a common operating standard. I am delighted to be part of this venture and to lead the development of the road transport offering of the merged companies in Poland, so that we can respond even better to the needs of our customers - says Piotr Zborowski, Managing Director, DSV Road Polska.

Temporary employment agency

The responsibility for the further development of DSV Services – an international temporary employment agency (KRAZ number 17648) and personnel consulting unit operating withing the DSV Group, was entrusted to Karolina Adamiec-Vook, who will remain its managing director. She led the company since 2017, and has been involved in the recruitment, outsourcing and talent acquisition sector for over 20 years.

People are at the beginning and at the end of every supply chain. They are the ones who create its stability and resilience. To maintain the current level of development of the DSV Group and fully realise the potential of the merger, the expertise of the company I manage in adapting the employment structure to dynamically changing operational needs will be significant to the business. - emphasises Karolina Adamiec – Vook, Managing Director, DSV Service - We see the integration as an opportunity for our company to grow around temporary staff recruitment in other countries, both within the DSV Group and with external clients. We already cooperate with partners in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.

Alongside organic growth, acquisitions are an important part of DSV – Global Transport and Logistics development strategy. The operator has been using them since 1976 as a tool to improve quality, potential, to expand the scope and scale of services, as well as to attract top talents. All these factors enabled creation of a broad offering that includes a range of services for a very diverse group of customers: from the pharmaceutical, healthcare and electronics sectors, through energy, automotive, eCommerce and industry, to beauty, fashion and FMCG. Together, in 2024 DSV and Schenker handled a total of 4.5 million TEU in maritime transport, 2.4 million tonnes of aviation cargo and managed warehouse with a total area of over 17 million sq. m. globally.
