University of Pretoria's Industrial Engineering students visiting DSV's flagship facility in South Africa

Empowering the next generation of logistics and engineering talent

Engineering week students tour DSV in South Africa for a real-world logistics experience

As part of Engineering week hosted by the University of Pretoria, a group of aspiring engineering students visited DSV’s flagship hub in Gauteng recently to learn about the complexities and innovation driving modern logistics and real-world engineering applications.

The tour was designed to give students a closer look at how theory translates into practice across a high-functioning supply chain environment. From warehouse automation, sustainable warehousing, to operational planning and engineering optimisation, supporting DSV's focus on education, youth empowerment and skills development.

The students were welcomed by Ralton Moses (Managing Director, Head of Sub-Sahara Cluster, Road MEA), taken on a guided facility tour of DSV Park | Gauteng by Lesiba Masoga (Branch Manager, Operations, Road Logistics) and Humbulani Masala (General Manager, Operations, Road Logistics), then attended presentations by Ivan van Antwerpen (GM Engineering and Projects, Road Logistics), and Candice Liebenberg (Director, Sales Sub-Sahara Cluster, Road MEA ).

Ralton Moses said DSV was proud of its association with academia. “Through our educational trust, graduate programme, and initiatives such as ‘student days’, we connect industry with education, and believe our investment enriches both and contributes to a brighter future for all.”

Bridging the gap between classroom and industry For over a decade, DSV has held “student days” with various Universities across the country as part of DSV’s broader Corporate Social Investment (CSI) approach to youth development and education in South Africa.
