Carbon-in-leach recovery: Precision logistics that restore mining operations in Africa
How DSV delivered time-critical logistics for a major CIL recovery project in Guinea
Precision, speed, and reliability - see how DSV turned a critical mining challenge in Guinea into a seamless recovery through expert project logistics.
After a carbon-in-leach (CIL) tank failure halted operations at a major mining site in Guinea, DSV South Africa was called in to support the urgent repair and recovery effort. This was an emergency situation, as the incident at site impacted the processing and hence production output of the mine. We faced tight deadlines in securing BBK vessels and exploring various options for structural steel to be shipped to Guinea.
The project involved transporting critical steel structures, piping, and mill components from South Africa to Guinea, on tight timelines with no margin for error. Our project logistics experts coordinated every step, ensuring materials were delivered safely and efficiently to help the client restore production as quickly as possible.
