POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Fairs & Events, USA must be a dynamic leader who can drive business growth through effective strategy development, stakeholder management, and execution. This role requires a proven track record of managing P&L in the Fairs & Events industry, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, client needs, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Procurement, this role will oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic execution of business development plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Leadership
- Develop and implement the company’s comprehensive strategy for fairs, exhibitions, and events to support overall business goals.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the P&L for the Fairs & Events division, ensuring revenue growth and profitability targets are achieved.
- Lead, mentor and develop the events team, promoting a culture of innovation, accountability and collaboration.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, by executing short and long-term business strategies to drive growth and improve operational efficiency.
Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, stakeholders.
- Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale events and fairs, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- End-to-end perspective – act as a detailed knowledge expert of DSV’s Fairs and Events business, capabilities, roadmap, systems, and operations
Financial reporting
- Report financial performance, operational efficiency, and business development activities.
- Analyze post-event metrics and make data-driven recommendations.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure that all events adhere to local laws, regulations, and health and safety standards.
Manage risks associated with events, this includes contingency planning.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or Logistics or equivalent fields is required
- Minimum of 10 years logistics experience leading a Fairs and Events Business
Computer Skills:
Experience with CargoWise, SAP knowledge is advantageous.
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications is needed.

Language Skills: English (reading, writing, and verbal)
Mathematical Skills: Good mathematical skills
Other Skills:
- Strong Financial skills – ability to develop a budget, track, and report appropriately. Strong accounting and billing practices and knowledge.
- Business development – Demonstrated experience in driving revenue growth and profitability in a competitive market.

- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.
- Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.
