Main Purpose of the Role:
The Regional Operational Excellence Trainer is responsible for delivering structured operational, process, system and transformation training across the MEA region in alignment with the Global Air & Sea Training Framework. The role acts as the regional execution layer for global training initiatives, ensuring training is delivered consistently, practically and in a way that supports local operational needs, user readiness, adoption, competency and business continuity. The role will also test and provide feedback on global training content, identify local gaps and adapt approved programmes for use in country, branch, system and process-specific contexts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver regional training initiatives in line with the Global Air & Sea Training Framework, approved training content, standards and governance.
- Facilitate instructor-led, classroom, virtual, onboarding, refresher and role-based training for operational employees, management and support functions.
- Support TANGO, CW1 and other operational system readiness through structured training delivery, user readiness support, assessments and post-go-live stabilization.
- Adapt approved global training material for local operational use without changing the intent of the global framework.
- Test training content, provide feedback to Global Training / MEA Operational Excellence and identify regional training gaps or practical business requirements.
- Develop country / branch examples, quick reference guides, training aids and reinforcement material where required and approved.
- Conduct assessments, quizzes, practical exercises and competency checks to confirm learner readiness and training effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate training calendars, attendance records, completion tracking, assessment results, feedback and adoption reporting.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Customs, IT, P&O / L&D, BCM and Operational Excellence stakeholders to identify and prioritise training needs.
- Support system releases, process changes, digital tool adoption and continuous improvement initiatives through targeted training interventions.
- Coach users and support managers with post-training reinforcement, knowledge-gap closure and adoption follow-up.
Tertiary Qualification:
Matric (Grade 12)
Advantage: Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Learning & Development, Organisational Development or related field. Equivalent operational experience may be considered.
Additional Computer Skills:
Advanced: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. TMS exposure required. CW1 / TANGO, LMS, Power BI, SharePoint or similar tools advantageous.
Job-Related Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years freight forwarding / logistics operational experience, preferably Air & Sea.
- Minimum 2–3 years training, facilitation, coaching, onboarding, business change or operational enablement experience.
- Must be able to support regional training delivery across UAE / Middle East and wider MEA where required.
- Fluent written and spoken English required. Arabic or other regional language advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Air & Sea forwarding, shipment lifecycle, operational workflows, data quality, finance / billing touchpoints and user adoption requirements.
Electives:
- CW1 and/or TANGO experience; prior system implementation or migration support; facilitation of classroom and virtual training; LMS exposure; Power BI awareness; process mapping; LEAN / Continuous Improvement exposure;
- Operationally credible trainer who can simplify complex system/process topics, adapt global training content for local use, and support user readiness and adoption across a diverse regional environment.
