2 General Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager to oversee and grow our portfolio of key customers in Dometic Road & CBT in Road sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term, strategic relationships with high-value customers, understanding their complex Road needs, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service that drives customer retention and revenue growth as well as GP% target achieved. This role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to identifying business opportunities.
3 Specific Accountabilities
- Manage and nurture a portfolio of key accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for all client-related matters, including inquiries, service issues, and strategic discussions.
- Develop and implement account management plans tailored to each key client’s business objectives, ensuring alignment with the company’s service capabilities and growth goals.
- Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional freight forwarding services (e.g., sea freight, air freight, road transport, cross boarder truck, warehousing) to existing key clients, driving revenue growth and account expansion.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (OKAM/CKAM, internal BDs, Operations, finance) to ensure seamless delivery of services, resolve any client issues promptly, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
- Conduct regular client reviews and business reviews to assess service performance, gather client feedback, and identify areas for improvement or new business opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments relevant to key clients’ businesses, providing insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing with key clients, ensuring terms are favorable to both the client and the company.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets, revenue goals, and client retention metrics for the key account portfolio.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, sales activities, and account plans in the company’s sales system.
4 Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in key account management, sales, or client relationship management within the international freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Deep understanding of international freight forwarding operations, including sea, air, and road transport, and supply chain logistics.
- Proven track record of managing high-value key accounts, driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key clients and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify client needs, assess complex logistics challenges, and develop effective solutions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using sales systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events.
5 Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in cross-border transportation will be considered a plus
- Good understanding of China logistics industry trends with specific emphasis on transportation concepts
