Global Transport and Logistics

Global

Job Req Number:  114759
Time Type: Full Time

This is a 6-month maternity cover from 1 July to 31 December 2026 – with the possibility of permanent employment afterwards. We need someone who already knows how to fly a drone and is ready to take real cargo into real skies. If that’s you, keep reading.

In this hands-on role, you will join us early in a whole new era of drone logistics. You will be flying our cargo drones across our European network and deploying yourself to operation sites around the world. You will be part of implementing the latest technology that will set the standard for the entire industry.

A new team with global reach

Based out of our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, you will join our Center of Excellence for Cargo Drones. Here, we work with our Airbridge concept. It revolves around drone deliveries of essential products and vital goods, like spare parts for wind turbines, medicine, or blood samples – and the deliveries are made out of our local offices across the globe. We have worked with drones for a couple of years, but just now have a formal division for it.

Right now, we are focusing on getting our drones in the air across our European network, but we are excited to roll the concept out globally. From time to time, you will deploy yourself to a site somewhere in the world to operate a drone service for a customer for a defined period – typically 1–3 weeks. Expect to travel approximately 10–30% of your working time on average.

“You’ll be the one executing flight operations, supporting maintenance and airworthiness, and ramping up new sites in close coordination with our warehouse staff, ground handling, and country management,” says Mathias.

Create high operational capacity for our drones

You will be instrumental in generating high operational capacity by minimising downtime of our local drone services and delivering safe and precise operations within the regulatory frameworks that govern drones in the EU and globally.

Operating and supporting our cargo drones across our network, you will:

  • Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures in accordance with the operations manual.
  • Operate drones in line with DSV’s operational authorisation and applicable EU and national regulations.
  • Track and uphold maintenance schedules and airworthiness records across the fleet.
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting on drones and ground support equipment.
  • Maintain accurate flight logs, maintenance logs, and incident reports under DSV’s Safety Management System.
  • Support ramp-ups at new operation sites, including site assessment input and SORA documentation.

A structured technical mind and the ”we can do it” entrepreneurial mindset

These traits will get you far. Because you will be operating new technology within strict aviation legislation, where we need to find a way in difficult environments. Moreover, you can specify operational changes, document needs and challenges from the field, and make calm, evidence-based go/no-go decisions on the ground.

There is no one path leading into this position. But to hit the ground running on day one, we imagine that you:

  • Have a background in engineering, IT, or a related technical discipline.
  • Hold a valid EU remote pilot certification (A1/A3 and A2; STS-01 / STS-02 competencies preferred).
  • Bring demonstrable hands-on experience operating multirotor and/or VTOL or fixed-wing UAS – BVLOS experience or work within a Safety Management System is a plus.
  • Are comfortable being deployed away from home base for 1–3 weeks at a time and able to travel 10–30% of your working time.
  • Are available for the full duration of the assignment (1 July – 31 December 2026) and are fluent in business English, written and spoken.
