At DSV, you will take end-to-end responsibility for our global WMS landscape and lead a large, distributed organisation of more than 350 IT professionals supporting Contract Logistics worldwide. This is a pivotal leadership role where you set direction, drive large scale transformation, and ensure that WMS remains a strategic enabler of operational excellence, scalability, and innovation across our business.

About the role

As Senior Director of Global WMS, you own the overall strategy, governance, performance, and evolution of DSV’s WMS domain. You operate at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and execution — balancing stable operations with continuous modernisation in a complex, global environment.

You will lead through senior leaders and managers, develop a strong leadership pipeline, and set clear strategic priorities while ensuring security, compliance, and measurable business impact. With a strong business focus, you translate long term strategy into tangible outcomes, including efficiency gains, cost optimisation, and platform modernisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and drive the global WMS IT strategy and roadmap, aligned with DSV’s enterprise objectives
• Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, senior stakeholders, and key business functions to identify opportunities, shape priorities, and deliver business value
• Lead and develop a large, global WMS organisation through senior leaders, ensuring clarity of direction, accountability, and performance
• Own budget, resource planning, and financial governance to drive efficiency, scalability, and sustainable cost optimisation
• Establish strong governance, operating models, and performance management across a complex, global IT landscape
• Ensure high standards of security, compliance, resilience, and system performance
• Drive the transformation of the WMS portfolio, including migration from legacy solutions to strategic platforms and decommissioning of legacy systems

About you

You are a seasoned technology leader with deep experience navigating complex, matrix based organisations at scale. You combine strategic clarity with strong execution capabilities and know how to lead through others to deliver lasting impact.

You bring a clear vision for how WMS can support operational excellence and business growth — and you have the credibility, leadership presence, and resilience to make it happen in a global, high pace environment.

We expect you to bring:

• Extensive experience leading large, multi layered organisations (100+ FTEs) in complex, international environments
• Strong strategic leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of driving holistic transformation and performance improvement – including stakeholder management and alignment at executive level
• Solid domain knowledge within WMS, 3PL solutions, warehouse technologies, logistics automation, and inventory management
• Experience defining and using KPIs, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement approaches (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
• A collaborative, visible, and trusted leadership style with the ability to engage effectively across cultures, functions, and organisational levels
• High personal drive, integrity, and the ability to set direction and lead change with clarity and confidence

This position is based at DSV headquarters in Hedehusene, Denmark.
