Key Account Manager, Customer Service

 DSV are recruiting for a Key Account Manager, Customer Service at our Mercia Park location.

This role will report to the General Manager, the Key Account Manager has overall accountability for leading a team in providing high quality of customer service assigned to this role. The Key Account Manager is a key member of the Site Management team supporting the team’s strategy in delivering first class customer service. The Key Account Manager must ensure that the customer’s operational aspects are proactively identified and serviced.

 

The role must act as a customer advocate while seeking service improvements, cost avoidance and savings. Together with the Site Management team, this role must seek to promote increased profitability by providing enhanced value-added services. To ensure the efficient delivery of services to all customers within the site in line with the company’s business strategy and the effective control of all site functions to operational flow, and excellence.

Duties 

  • Promote the voice of the customer across operational teams, ensuring their needs, expectations, and feedback directly influence service delivery and operational decisions.

  • Establish service expectations and measurements and consistently review performance for compliance and improvements, ensure the account is provided with innovative and proactive focus on continued customer improvements.

  • Supporting the General Manager with the relationships for each customer, establishing both operationally and financially improvements.

  • Understand all aspects of our customer’s business and integrate the requirements the customer needs, through collaboration with the operational team and other departments as necessary.

  • Plan and promote DSV’s People Plan, to successfully attract the right talent, to allow continuous growth within the team, building capability at all levels, allowing a future growth plan. Monitoring, on an ongoing basis, the performance of all direct reports, and undertake regular reviews (appraisals) at all levels, in accordance with the Company’s procedures.

  • Promoting the good name of DSV Solutions (and its associated companies within DSV) by always adopting a professional approach. Ensuring that there is regular communication through team briefings with all employees in the site in order that they are made aware of national and local developments affecting the Company.

  • Develop and deepen supply chain, operational, and financial expertise across your teams to deliver strategic value to the client.

  • Supporting the General Manager and Senior Key Account Manager with maintaining effective liaison with the Global Account Management Teams (if your customer is a nominated Global Account) to ensure the development of the existing customer base in line with the Company’s strategic objectives and targets.

  • Provide support to the Senior key Account Manager and General Manager to develop and continuously maintain business plans to identify account objectives, DSV’s vision, KPI’s, measures for success whilst identifying resources to reach and exceed these objectives.

  • Ensure a high level of understanding of the Warehouse Management System to be able to question or investigate operational challenges

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.

  • Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company.

  • Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are always maintained and promote a good image of DSV.

  • Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, relevant ISO accreditations

  • Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant Company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied.

  • Attend any development training as required in compliance with the Company’s commitment to the Investors in People standard.

 Experience

  • Middle management experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good understanding of Warehouse processes and procedures

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Experience of Warehouse Management Systems

  • Passionate about delivering great customer service

  • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development

  • Highly developed inter-personal and communication skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels within the business

  • Ability to build, lead and motivate a skilled team able to meet objectives and agreed targets

  • Computer literate with MS Office 365, especially Word, Excel & PowerPoint

  • Analytical mind-set and ability to think independently

  • Strong decision-making skills

  • Excellent attention to detail skills

Skills and Competencies 

  • Full driving licence

  • 3 years of a recent relevant Account Management or Customer Service Management

  • Leadership, ability of achieving and exceeding business goals

  • High organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels
