Distribution Operator
Purfleet
Main Purpose of the role
DSV are looking to recruit a Transport Operator to work within our busy distribution department. Working within a team providing good and accurate communication to customers and drivers. Good geographical knowledge of the Southeast of England is preferable along with transport knowledge regarding legal compliance, drivers hours, vehicle dimensions, weights and capacity.
This role will be to meet UK Domestic customers' requirements for the safe and efficient transport of their cargo effectively and in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements including Health & Safety to the satisfaction of clients and the profit of the company.
What will you be doing?
- Prepare correct documentation to the Warehouse department for loading/offloading cargo to vehicles, in a timely manner.
- Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. invoicing; filing; queries; claims; check costs in accordance with departmental requirements.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external customers, Drivers, suppliers, and other offices.
- Assisting planning or re planning of Distribution vehicles/ routes
- Utilise vehicle fleet in the most effective way
- Any reports/KPI's required

- Excellent Communicator
- Good Customer Service
- Proficiant in PC and Transport Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours & Transport Regulations
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
- Problem solving
- Work effectively as part of a team
