Solutions Design Engineer
Location: Midlands

DSV is looking for a proactive and analytical Solutions Design Engineer to join our growing Contract Logistics team. In this key role, you will help shape innovative, data driven logistics solutions that support new business growth, enhance existing operations, and contribute directly to our ambitious commercial targets.

What will you be doing?

As a Solutions Design Engineer, you’ll play a vital part in developing operational designs and driving continuous improvement across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

New Business Solutions

•    Reviewing customer requirements and data to inform early commercial decisions.
•    Designing layouts, storage concepts, headcount models and automation options based on detailed data analysis.
•    Exploring industry innovations, attending events, and engaging suppliers to bring fresh ideas into Contract Logistics

Client Retention & Growth

•    Working directly with existing customers to review operational data, understand changing needs, and identify optimisation opportunities.
•    Supporting commercial and operational teams with insight that improves efficiency and strengthens customer relationships.
Implementation
•    Ensuring the successful delivery of new business wins by aligning solution designs with SOPs, productivity assumptions, resourcing, MHE and site layouts.
•    Presenting clear, data driven analyses to stakeholders.

Department & Business Development

•    Supporting the standardisation of solution design methodologies across our sites.
•    Researching emerging technologies and trends that can enhance our offer.

•    Analytical, detail focused and confident with data.
•    Skilled at translating customer needs into practical operational solutions.
•    Collaborative, commercially aware, and comfortable engaging with customers and senior stakeholders.
•    Curious, innovative, and motivated to drive continuous improvement.
